We are delighted to announce the opening of our new office which will be Thursday 20th March.

Our new office is located in the Unit 2 SuperValu Shopping Centre, Stradbally, Co. Laois, R32 KX94.

Opening Hours

Tuesday: 9.15-5.00

Wednesday: 10.00–5.00

Thursday: 9.15-5.00

Friday: 9.15– 6.00

Saturday: 9.15-1.00

This office will close for lunch Tuesday-Friday from 12.45pm to 1.30pm.

Join us on Friday 28th of March for a fun filled day with FREE Face Painting, FREE Tea, Coffee and Treats from 12pm to 4pm. Representatives from Community Funding groups who have been shortlisted will be invited to spin the wheel for funding! See application process below.

Young Savers- Get €10 FREE

Start your savings journey with us! Open an account for your child (0-16 years) between 28th March-12th April, and we'll deposit €10 into their account.

Documents required to apply:

  • Child's Passport (or birth certificate if they do not hold a passport)
  • Parent's Proof of Address dated within the last 6 months (utility bill*/bank statement/document from Govt. department)
  • Parent's Photo ID (passport/driving licence)

*We cannot accept mobile phone bills or Revolut statements as proof of address.

If the child is under 7, the parent/guardian may sign on their behalf. If the child is over 7, they will need to be present at the appointment stage and also present for all withdrawals on the account.


FREE Face Painting

Free Face Painting from 2pm with My Face Paint Mania. Our PFCU Mascot will also be there on the day and will have lots of Easter goody bags to give to all the children!

I acknowledge that applications are only reviewed by the Community Funding Committee four times per year. Currently, applications are reviewed at the end of February, May, August, November.

I confirm that, if requested at a reasonable time and location that the organisation will be available for any promotion event around the allocation of funding by means of a photo shoot, social media image or any other marketing related promoting to the issuing of funding.


Community Funding Applications Terms and Conditions

Applications must be from non-profit organisations or charities within our common bond area.

In making this application to People First Credit Union, please note the following:

  • The application will be treated as incomplete without the form being completed in full.
  • Only groups or organisations will be considered. People First Credit Union does not sponsor individuals.
  • Eligible applicants must be members of People First Credit Union’s common bond. Please contact the office if you are unsure of your eligibility.
  • People First Credit Union will agree funding guidelines to the recipient regarding photo opportunities, and PR opportunities.
  • If funding has been approved, the contact as outlined above will be notified, however the funding will not be released until sponsorship guidelines have been carried out by the organisation and approved as satisfactory by People First Credit Union.
  • Applicants, please feel free to attach further information to supporting your funding application.
  • All organisations applying for People First Community Funding need to outline project details, including project amount.
  • Community/ volunteer groups need to be in operation for a minimum of one year to be considered for community funding.
  • Funding will not be awarded to projects for two consecutive years running
  • Funding will not be awarded to projects focused on the regular upkeep, maintenance, or repair of existing facilities, equipment, or infrastructure.
  • Funding will not be awarded to national projects. Applicants' projects must be within our common bond.
  • The committee meet once a quarter, four times a year in total to approve applications.
  • Sponsorships will not be considered if the form is not filled out, letters are not accepted.
  • The decision of the committee is final. Discussions with the committee about declined applications will not be entered into
