Death Benefit Insurance
Death Benefit Insurance is a unique service offered by People First credit union to help pay for end of life expenses. It currently pays a fixed benefit payment of €1,300 in the event of death. There are some terms and conditions to meet for inclusion and you should ask a Member of our Staff about these. You should also check how the premium is paid.
Coverage & Eligibility
Most members can be included if:
- They have joined the credit union before age 70 in good health or while actively and regularly carrying out their normal occupation or duties and,
- They continue to be a member of the credit union and maintain the minimum amount of savings, currently €200 in their account as required by the credit union for inclusion in DBI.
Once you are included for DBI you will continue to be insured as long as you remain a member of the credit union. Note the benefit payable and amount of savings required in your account can change from year to year, so please check with a Member of our Staff.

Members can take out flexible loans 5 weeks after joining, and repay at tailor-made schedules. All our loans are fully insured (for free), against disability or death.

Pay by Direct Debit
Arrange a Direct Debit payment from your bank and be sure of regular payments to your Credit Union account.
