PFCU launches a new community lending product!
People First Credit Union this week launched its Community Loan product for groups across the Portlaoise, Athy, Abbeyleix and Stradbally areas.
The loan product is targeted at community, not for profit, groups, and charities. It offers loan amounts of up to €200,000 with loan terms between one and 35 years.
Speaking about the loan, Séan Dunne, CEO of People First Credit Union said,
“We recognise the impact local clubs and societies and other not for profit organisations have within our communities. The People First Community Loan will help many organisations bring their development projects to the next level. We are also delighted to announce our collaboration with CFI ( Community Finance Ireland) for larger loan amounts and co-funding projects”.
While we are cognisant that there are other financial lenders available to community groups. We would like them to consider a local lender such as People First Credit Union as we are embedded in the local community and committed to support projects that support the socio-economic well-being of people living and working across our membership areas of Portlaoise, Athy, Abbeyleix and Stradbally”.
People First Credit Union will consider projects from all sectors including, sports groups, arts, youth activities, social enterprise, and community groups. Local groups and clubs are all eligible to open savings accounts in the credit union which can be used for fundraising/ saving activities.
