Young credit union volunteer wins a trip to World Credit Union conference !
People First Credit Union is thrilled to announce that Julian Nagi, a dynamic and accomplished professional at the young age of 25, has been selected as a recipient of the World Youth Credit Unions Professional Network (WYCUP) scholarship 2024. Julian's exceptional contributions to the credit union, including his pivotal roles in the nominations committee, investment committee, and the establishment of an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) committee, have set him apart as a rising star in the industry. Julian will now represent his credit union and Ireland at the Annual Internation Convention in June hosted by St. Kitts & Nevis National Co=operative League.
In just a short time, Julian has demonstrated an impressive commitment to the credit union's success. His passion for sustainability, rooted in his experiences as a student union member in college, has driven substantial positive changes within the organisation. Julian's forward-thinking ideas have led to initiatives such as rating investments with an ESG score and promoting environmentally friendly practices, such as using public transport for annual general meetings (AGM). His dedication to a sustainable future aligns seamlessly with the values of People First Credit Union.
Martin Busch, President of the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU), expressed his delight at Julian Nagi's achievement, stating, "I am thrilled to see a young, talented individual like Julian being recognised on a global platform. This achievement not only highlights Julian's remarkable contributions but also reflects positively on the future of the credit union sector. The world youth credit union professional network plays a crucial role in bringing together bright minds, fostering innovation, and shaping the future of our industry. I extend my sincere congratulations to Julian and wish him continued success in his journey."
People First Credit Union congratulates Julian Nagi on this prestigious accomplishment and looks forward to witnessing the positive impact he will undoubtedly have on the credit union movement globally.
