Easter Family Fun Day promises treats, smiles and community spirit in Athy
Families across the Athy area are invited to hop along to a special Easter Family Fun afternoon hosted by People First Credit Union on Thursday, 2nd April from 1.30pm to 3.30pm in our Athy office.
The event promises a fun-filled afternoon for children and parents alike, with free face painting by Sinead the Face Painter, balloon art, Easter eggs, goodie bags and a “Spin the Wheel” with extra treats up for grabs. There will also be tea and coffee available, making it a relaxed and welcoming outing for the whole family during the Easter break.
As part of the celebrations, the credit union is offering a special Easter incentive for young savers. Parents who open a new Young Savers Account (0–15 years) on the day will receive €10 lodged directly into the child’s account – the perfect start to a savings journey. Families who open an account before 31st May will also be entered into a draw to win a €500 Center Parcs voucher, adding an extra touch of excitement to the season.
But the day is about more than just fun and treats. The event will also shine a light on community spirit in Athy and surrounding areas including Kilberry, Kilmead and Ballylynan. People First Credit Union has announced that €15,000 in community funding is available for local volunteer and community groups supporting ESG, sustainability and community-focused initiatives.
Applications for the funding close on 16th March at 12 noon, with five shortlisted groups set to be invited along to the Easter Fun Day to receive their funding in person – adding a special community celebration element to the afternoon.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Carol Murphy, Marketing Manager for People First Credit Union said the aim is to create “a warm, welcoming space where families can come together, children can enjoy the magic of Easter, and we can celebrate the incredible community groups that make such a difference locally.”
Becoming a member is simple, with accounts available for children and adults, alongside a full range of financial services including current accounts with debit cards, loans, mortgages and insurance options.
The Easter Family Fun Day is open to families across the region, and all are welcome to call in on 2nd April for what promises to be a lively and memorable afternoon.
